Second Official MPRT Site Visit

6th November, 2021 - Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Brunei including agricultural officers and other staff from Department of Agriculture and Agri Food went to visit Man Foods Farm at  Jalan Lampaki Mulaut. The purpose of the work visit was to see the latest development of chili farm using fertigation system, achievements and activities of Man Foods Farm Development Area, an initiative program by the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food to operate farms as agricultural sites

The owner of Man Foods Farm, Pengiran Haji Mohammad Isman Hisham bin Pengiran Haji Othman was present to welcome the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism and invited him to look around the development of Man Foods Farm which is in its transplanting process.

In the welcome speech, Man Foods Farm mentioned that the company has faced several obstacles, barriers and challenges in recent months in its planting efforts due to the flood problem which is often a major issue. Therefore, the management of Man Foods Farm changed the method of cultivation by using the benching fertigation method and are proud to be the first in Brunei Darussalam to be using this method of fertigation. Man Foods Farm is currently actively seeking recognition from Brunei GAP under the supervision of Darussalam Enterprise and the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood.

Man Foods Farm extends their gratitude to the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood who have provided assistance and support unceasingly to the company. The working visit ended by inviting the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism to tour around the farm operated by Man Foods Farm.
